CHINA EARTHQUAKE APPEAL IN CHINATOWN 25/5

With the death toll of the earthquake disaster in China rapidly rising everyday, GetActive.uk.com is holding a second fund raising event in Chinatown on Sunday 25th MAY 2008 12:00PM - 17:00PM to support the relief efforts. The 7.9 magnitude tremor, which was focused in China's Sichuan Province, is estimated to have killed over 40,000 people and that toll is expected to rise dramatically as rescue teams reach the most affected areas. In cities near the earthquake's epicenter, over 26,000 people are buried under the rubble of collapsed buildings. One county is reporting that more than 80 percent of buildings have been destroyed. Chinese government estimates that as many as 3.5 million homes have been destroyed. We need your help to provide help to thousands of survivors who have lost their homes and loved ones.
